Uniform Working Party Update

If you have not already done so, please call in to our ‘Community Room’ to look at the two choices of new Uniform and to cast your vote on which you would like all pupils to wear.  The deadline for all votes is 3.45pm on Friday 16th December.  Please note you will NOT be able to put forward your vote after this deadline. Once all votes have been counted, we will then announce the ‘winner’.  Thank you.

Intake 2012

If you have a child due to start school in September 2012, please make sure that you have registered your child’s name with us even if you already have a child at this school. Contact the office and they will be delighted to help. Tel: 01942 720871

Punctuality

The number of children getting to school late is becoming a major issue. Please make an effort to get your child to school by 8.45a.m – there are a few children who are late regularly and it sets them a terrible example and shows them the wrong work ethic!  Other children make it for 8.30am clubs everyday and come from the far side of Wigan and even Lancashire!

Uniform

Uniform can be ordered from the school office, call in and see the office staff.

Classrooms and Facillities.

OUTSTANDING!

"Nicol Mere School is an outstanding school and one that is improving under the exceptionally good and inspirational leadership of the headteacher."

"The school’s motto – ‘Learning is a passport to life – enjoy’ – is seen in all that it does and helps pupils to gain an impressive understanding of their futures in the world of work. Overall, pupils make consistently good progress. By the end of Year 6 they achieve extremely well in their learning because the school has very high expectations of them. Staff strive to eradicate any differences in the achievement of groups of pupils. For example, the school has been highly successful in helping pupils with previously challenging behaviour to enjoy learning and make good progress again and those who have special educational needs and/or disabilities make exceptional progress."

This inspection places us in the top 6% of primary schools in the country! We are all extremely proud of our school's achievements!

Holidays 2011-2012

To see this year's holiday list click here.

Equality and Community Cohesion

The new 2010-13 plan is now available and will be updated throughout the year.  We have already received some stakeholder input, but if you would like to have your say then please let us know.

Holidays in term time

As explained last term, no holidays will be authorised during term time this year. The children already get over 14 weeks holiday and missing school does impact on their learning.

Car Park

In the interests of everyone’s safety, please do not drive onto or park on the staff car park during our busiest times.  Also, to avoid serious accidents, please do not walk through the car park - use the footpaths provided.  Thank you.
