February 2008

Playground and punctuality.

(PUPILS COME IN BY 8.55am AND DOORS WILL BE CLOSED)
Please ensure that pupils do not arrive too early in school as there is no supervision. They are expected to arrive at 8.50am. Unfortunately there are still a small number of children who are regularly late and miss the classes going in at 8.55am. Register is at 9.00am.
Please look out for the latest changes on the yard and be aware that building work is going on for the next few weeks.

Parking on zigzags
Despite numerous reminders again, some parents are still parking on clearly marked ‘no parking zigzags’. This is obviously very dangerous and in fact one child was knocked down at a local school recently when a car parked inappropriately. Could the owner of the black mondeo: registration V812 GUR and a few others please take note!

We intend to paint the sports container by the football cage soon and are asking for any parent volunteers or governors to help. Furthermore, if anyone has any cheap/free contacts for paint we are always grateful for support. Thanks.

MUFTI
On Friday, we held an "end of term" mufti. Half of the contributions went  towards the newspaper article regarding "Ellie" (please ask for details if needed) and the other half towards our production costs within school.

Talent show
Our informal show was really fun and we saw a great turn out from parents, governors and friends. We were privileged to watch our very talented pupils perform a range of acts. Thank you for all the lovely positive comments received so far. (If you would like to add further comments, please see the slip below which you could complete and return to school). Thanks also and well done to Megan, Hannah and Alicia for their organisation skills. We raised approximately £100 which will go towards dance stages.

Low Bank Ground

Some of our Year 5 & 6 children enjoyed a residential trip to Low Bank Ground last week. The weather was not the greatest it could have been, but nonetheless, the children enjoyed themselves immensely. A great big thank you to the members of staff who gave up their own time to join and supervise the children.
