Our Computing Curriculum Statement
Technology is changing the lives of everyone. Through teaching computing, we equip our children to participate in a rapidly changing world where work and leisure activities are being increasingly transformed by technology.
It is our intention to enable our children to find, explore, analyse, exchange and present information. We also focus on developing the skills necessary for our children to be able to use information in a discriminating and effective way.
Computing skills are a major factor in enabling our children to be confident, creative and independent learners, and it is our intention that our children have every opportunity available to allow them to achieve this.
Moreover, we want our children to know how to keep themselves safe using the internet.
1. To have very high expectations in computing across the whole school so that children are ready for a technological world.
2. To provide a broad and balanced curriculum which is progressive in knowledge, skills and vocabulary.
3. To give our children the knowledge and skills to keep themselves safe online through our progressive and encompassing online safety curriculum.
4.To offer our children new and exciting computing opportunities and experiences.
5. To promote our school and British Values.
6.To prepare our children for the next steps in their learning journey.
