Miss Hill
Sadly, Miss Hill will retire from school on 30th April, after having taught at Nicol Mere for 30 years. May we take this opportunity to offer her our heartfelt thanks for her valuable service during this time. She will be greatly missed by everyone at the school, both past and present. Good luck!
Miss Hill.
Let’s Sing
We were extremely proud of our Year 3 pupils who took part in the “Let’s Sing” event on Tuesday at the JJB Stadium. They sang very well at the big concert, (with only a few weeks’ practice) and their excellent behaviour is to be applauded. They were, in fact, the youngest children there as the others were older primary or high school pupils. Oliver Longworth (Year 4) received a standing ovation, after previously being chosen to sing solo. Well done Oliver! A big “thank you” to Miss Olver, Mrs Haselden, Miss Gregory and Mrs Smalley for their help and support prior to the event and accompanying the children at the concert. A letter from Mr Cheesman, with his pleasing comments, is printed on the back of the newsletter sent to parents.
Easter Dinner Extravaganza
At dinner time, on Thursday, 13th March, we are “springing into Easter” with the ‘Munch Bunch’ Menu. This means that the menu of the day will be an Easter lunch of : Roast Turkey, Roast Potatoes, Vegetables of the day, a drink and a choice of Easter desserts. The price will be a set price of £1.80 for INFANT children and there will also be our usual cash cafeteria service available for JUNIOR children. There will be a free raffle for the children who have an Easter lunch. Do not send any money into school beforehand – please give the money to your child on the day, as per the usual arrangements for dinner money. Any children on free meals will receive this menu as part of their entitlement. If your child does not wish to have an “Easter Dinner”, then a packed lunch from home will need to be brought with them on the day.
Payment For School Dinners
Children must bring money with them on the day they want a school dinner! There are a handful of pupils who regularly don’t have the money with them and it is causing a real administration headache. It creates queues in the dining room and a lot of unnecessary extra work for staff because parents are not giving the money to the children on the same day.
Y3-5 Junior Easter Service - Thursday/Friday 13/14th March, Time = 9.15am
A maximum of 2 tickets per family will be available for Thursday or Friday’s performances on a first come, first serve basis – please request these from the office. Please see separate letters previously sent out this week.
