PARENTS, TEACHERS, STAFF AND FRIENDS’ ASSOCIATION (PTSFA) ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING, HELD ON WEDNESDAY,
4TH MARCH 2009 @ 3.30PM IN Y5G SCHOOL CLASSROOM

TREASURER’S REPORT 07/08
Mrs Magee presented a detailed Treasurer’s Report for 2007/08 since the last PTSFA meeting copies of which were distributed. It was noted that :
An amount for the price of the music stages previously paid for out of the ‘Budget’ department was required.
Action : J Pugh would ask the Budget Clerk.
Due to new staff, the signatory list would need to be amended.
Action : G Magee would sort.
ELECTION OF COMMITTEE
A committee was elected as follows :
CHAIR: Ms H McGeown
TREASURER: Mrs G Magee
SECRETARY: Mrs J Pugh
SCHOOL REP: Miss E Gander
They were thanked for their acceptance of the positions.
MATTERS ARISING :
CONSTITUTION
Samples of Constitutions were presented to the group. Mrs Pugh would draw up a draft for Nicol Mere School.
FUTURE EVENTS
The following dates/events were agreed :
Talent show raffle – 1st April.
Easter Treasure Hunt – Miss Gander to sort.
Bingo – 20th May.
It was agreed that a termly PTSFA newsletter would be provided showing a calendar of events.

· Aims of the PTSFA
EG explained that there was a need to try in raise interest in the PTSFA. We should try to organsie events not only to raise money for school but also to improve home school links.
· Future events
GM stated future events already set
· school valentines disco – JP to look for Christmas disco flyer to adapt and send out. GM suggested tickets go on sale Mon/Tues morning. GM and EG to sell tickets.
· Mufty – chocolate theme for Easter tombola on bingo night (date suggested 20th March)
· Bingo (date suggested for 25th March)
· Treasure Hunt – Easter Holiday activity to raise money for the garden
AK acknowledged that plenty of notice needs to be given to parents about future events to ensure that they are well attended.
EG suggested that maybe we ask opinions of parents about the type of events that they would attend in school. EG to set up.
EG suggested that in the next meeting that we create a calendar of events, so that parents, school, and PTFSA know what events are being held.

JP reminded the group that new positions needed to be assigned through AGM
AGM to be held next meeting. EG to contact all members not present.
· Future Meetings
It was decided that meeting at present need to held half termly.
Next meeting to be held on Wednesday 4th March.
EG suggested that agenda should involve sorting out a calendar of events/meeting days, election of new committee, and organising Bingo night
